Wednesday Tech Tips: Fun with Photos

I just read about a newish app called Throwback that takes photos, but instead of saving them to your phone, emails them to you in the future -- anywhere from one month to five years.

What a cool idea in our multi-task, memory-challenged times!  Nowadays you aren't saving a shoebox full of old photos, so Throwback has found another way to offer that moment of nostalgia.

I decided to look for other fun things you can do with your pics.  With these photo editors and apps, you can decide to save your summer vacation snaps for five years down the road, or dress them up now!

Even in you're not sitting for the test come up the ante by showing off your smarts. It's at 3:30pm, there will be candy, prizes, and hopefully enough room for your ENORMOUS BRAINS.

TAB: It's Not the End of the World

This week's guest post offering is brought to you by your own Teen Advisory Board member, Stephanie (applause!) and is a fine reaction to the latest churn-out of dystopian fiction.

Thanks Stephanie! I for one, feel much better.

where i come from there IS no SAT...

No, but for real.

I never had to take the SAT. We all took the ACT. Because colleges where I'm from don't care about the SAT, I guess? Unless that's just what my guidance counselor told me because he thought I couldn't handle higher education. In which case: IN YOUR FACE DR. GULSHINKI! I am a LIBRARY SCIENTIST now!)

Anyway. This is Massachusetts. College-bound juniors have to sit for this test, and they have to sit soon. Juniors? Are you reading this? Instead of doing math portion practice tests? Are you signed up for May 7? Or June 4? Am I stressing you out?

DON'T BE STRESSED! Come by the library next Tuesday (April 26) after school for a fun-but-still-helpful SAT VOCABULARY SMACKDOWN! There will be competition, there will be candy, there will be one left standing - and that one will have the most magnificent vocabulary in all the land and will get a real-life PRIZE. Most of all it will be a welcomed break from crammy cram cramming.

You in? You're in.

Silver lining from Pennsylvania

Apparently this little guy says to hang in there, because this hell we call winter is almost over.

He won't say who will win the Superbowl, though.

Also, Phil's now got competition. I think this is a total hoot. Clearly, Tallulah & Blanche need to start making some predictions of their own -- maybe next year's Caldecott winners, for example?
