I know we're all recovering from The Mortal Instruments, but brace yourselves! more action-packed films are on the way.
ONWARD TO THE TRAILERS!
Seventh Son, based on The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney
Y'all may have read this series when you were younger -- I read the first book and it is super creepy. Will the movie deliver the chills, or is just a lot of explosions and dragons and Jeff Bridges swooping around?
Vampire Academy based on the series by Richelle Mead
Okay, I still have to read this one -- from the trailer I don't know what exactly is supposed to be going on here. Vampire prom? Why'd they kidnap that girl? Is there some sort of vampire society battle about to be unleashed here? And will those shoes still be in vogue by the time the movie comes out?
And of course you all know about Divergent! First look premiered at MTV's VMAs.
Many other popular series are in development or in production, including The Maze Runner, Fallen, Monument 14, The 5th Wave, and Uglies.
Are you excited for these movie adaptations? Is there a series you want brought to the big screen? Do you want more action adventure movies, or are you hankering for more realistic dramas like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Spectacular Now? And when is Hollywood going to knock it off with that dramatic foghorn effect already?

Iron Man 3, Embarrassing Stories and Book Trailer News
- I must have been living under a rock not to realize that Iron Man 3 is in theaters tomorrow. Luckily I can catch up on all things Tony Stark over at Marvel's Iron Man news page. Now I am stoked to see Pepper Potts in the suit!
- That time when you had to read in front of the class and said "breasts" instead of "breath"? Don't worry, we've all been there -- in real life and in fiction.
- Suzanne Young's new book, The Program, is getting a lot of buzz! It's comforting to know that in the dystopian future that lies ahead, at least our hair will be perfect.
- It chills my blood just thinking about Rick Yancey's The 5th Wave. They are making short trailers for each of the "waves"; this is the first one.
- I think the trailer for Julie Kagawa's The Eternity Cure is stylish, despite the foghorn meme.
- And our last video is an invitation to be part of a book trailer -- for Suzanne Collins's Catching Fire!!

Book & Movie Trailer Roundup!
It's getting so you can't tell 'em apart. Please note how this one uses the omninous foghorn that started with Inception. Catch up to the rest of us, book marketers! it's BEEN DONE [smacks upside head].
Still, I'm intrigued. What's with that bracelet? Will it track her, or explode off her hand if she tries to leave?
The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau
The City of Bones trailer is here in its extended glory!
Wow, now I don't have to watch the movie. Although, is that Magnus Bane we're seeing there? Holy hotness, Batman. Plus the kid from The Misfits -- that is the most exciting casting ever.
Big big news for my fellow horror fans and anyone who finds Christmas kinda unsettling: Joe Hill's NOS4A2 will be on shelves at the end of the month.
While Mr. Hill is indeed too-cool-for-school kids, please please please wear a full face helmet while riding your motorcycle.
The Percy Jackson franchise is still...going strong?
OMG, you guys, they totally did the foghorn thing. Logan Lerman, take the money and run! Run your adorbs face into another indie picture!
Also, you guys are only worried about Kronos? Because last time I checked, the entire Greek pantheon was made up of jerks and sociopaths.
And it wouldn't be a trailer roundup without the latest teaser of Catching Fire.
Anything else out there that we should get excited about?

SON
Lois Lowry's* new book in the series that started with The Giver (which you, along with thousands of kids across the country, might have read in 8th grade) has hit the shelves! Between now and when The Giver was first published in 1993 she wrote two other books about the world Jonas lives in, and is finally bringing his story full circle with the publication of Son.
While you're waiting to get your hands on a copy, the Teen Room has put together a list of read-alikes. All set in an unknown future or parallel society, these books take a grim, exciting, and inspiring look at what it takes to survive when rights and choices have been taken away from people -- especially young people.

*Did you know Lois Lowry is from Cambridge? She IS! Some of her books are even set in Cambridge, and one of them mentions the library. You may have noticed a little plaque with her name on it in the pit in the Teen Room, that area is dedicated to her. We're big fans, is what is I'm saying.
