Do I have any book recommendations for you?  Boy howdy YES.  But (see preceding) it's hot outside.  And People of the Interwebs are making up cool lists already.  So I thought I would start featuring them on the blog -- especially 'cause, despite what you must think, I don't get around to reading everything.

A Date of Immense and Grave Importance

This is a year for anniversaries and commemorative events.  100 years since the sinking of Titanic, the 100th birthday of Fenway Park, the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens -- all marked by books, television miniseries, and celebrations.



All well and good.  But I'm here to discuss an event of even greater magnitude for nerds, librarians, and diehard Whedonites everywhere.  I can only be speaking of the theatrical release of The Avengers on May 4th.




Right? RIGHT?  Hey, I made a comics display 5 minutes ago and already two kids have come in and started to clean it out.  If you were hoping to spend the coming days familiarizing yourself with this Marvel superteam, best hustle over here very very soon.
