Wednesday Tech Tips: Back It UP

Has this happened to you?  You are writing a paper for your sociology class on the influence of undergarments on the suffragette movement.  You're racing along, brilliantly proving your arguments and polishing your conclusions when poof!  The computer time expires and your paper is G-O-N-E.

Let me revise that a bit.  If this has happened to you, you have already taken steps to make sure it never happens again.  It's all you other poor (I have to say it) chumps that I'm worried about.

So gather round, dear chumps, and I will tell you a true story.  There's a magical place out there in the Internet, and it is called The Cloud (sparkle-music!)  You can save your work in the cloud and access it again whenever and wherever you get online.*  It's also a way for you to share your files (text, spreadsheets, photos, videos, music, etc.) with other people from wherever they are.  So nice for the group project!

There are many sites that let you store a certain amount of data for free!  Social Times has listed eight of' them here.  So go forth bravely and never lose your work again!

*Except during the singularity.  See last week's post.
