Because even librarians don't have all the answers...

I'm sure something about you is nifty.
Attention High School Seniors
Navigating the college admission process is a challenge and the college essay is the one place on your application where you can present yourself to an admission officer. This is where you can shine, which makes the essay, and the topic you choose, an exciting challenge.

Margaret McNally, M. Ed, a college counselor with a private practice in Cambridge, is holding individual workshops to brainstorm the college essay and help students find their personal story. Margaret is a former journalist and English teacher as well as an admissions director at a private school. Scholarships are available.

Look both ways.

I can't think of anything witty to say about Upward Bound, it is just neat-o.
The MIT/Wellesley Upward Bound Program is currently recruiting 9th and 10th graders.
Our program is a year-round (from time of entrance until graduation from high school), federally sponsored, educational program serving seventy (75) low-income and/or first generation eighth and high school college-bound students from the Cambridge community. The Program stresses the development of academic skills and motivation for students who might not traditionally be considered college-bound.

The MIT/Wellesley Upward Bound Program is having a Fall Open House for CRLS freshmen, sophomores and their parents on Monday, October 17th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Come learn about the Upward Bound Program, Meet the staff and current students and participate in a fun Upward Bound Trivia. Please RSVP by Friday, October 14th at 617-253-5124 or email: lpires@mit.edu.

For more information about Upward Bound please contact: 617-253-5124 or email lpires@mit.edu.
